Like I rightly defined it in a previous post, Jihad originates from the verb 'jahada' meaning 'to strive'. Invariably, today, we shall insha Allah be looking at the best form of Jihad ever!
We already know from an earlier post also that Jihad nafs (Personal strives on how to be better servant of God) is more important than any other.Therefore, the question now is: Which is the very best of the personal strives?
According to a hadith:
“ The Best amongst you is (he) who learns and teaches the Holy Quran.”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Hadith # 4739)
Gbam! There it is! The best form of Jihad is learning the recitation and understanding of the teachings of the Quran and MOST ESPECIALLY TEACHING others!
Islam is a religion that placed the seeking of knowledge over every other thing in life. Come to think of it, what can one do without adequate knowledge? Absolutely NOTHING! Hence, the high regards that Islam accords knowledge is not misplaced.
Believe it or not, a lot of your friends do not know how to take the ritual baths in Islam! Guess what, without this knowledge, they shall remain unclean no matter how many abulution they perform for salat.Without the ritual bath, you can't perform salat and without salat, you can't enter paradise. This is because the ONLY difference between a Muslim and a non Muslim is salat, salat is also the very first item that shall be cross-checked on the day of judgement.As you can see yourself, the five daily prayers are the keys to paradise, lack of knowledge on how to take the spiritual bath can deny you access to these keys...so what are you gonna do...go learn it AND SPREAD the knowledge round too...learn more about your deen through the the teachings of the Quran and don't hesitate to share the knowledge! The Quran says:
“And indeed We have made the Qur’an easy for direction and guidance, but is there anyone who will take advice?”
(Sura Al-Qamar 54, verse # 17)
From the above verse, it's quite glaring that all you have to do is to commit yourself to learning the recitation and the teachings of the Quran and God Almighty shall make the task easy for you.
Islam is suffering from lack of teachers to broadcast it's teachings to the world...this is why people find it pretty easy to relate Islam to terrorism. This is due to the fact that we, Muslims have left the awareness and information about our deen in the hands of non Muslims ho are happy to mis-inform the unwary about Islam.
Despite the numerous types and forms of terrorism around the world, whenever you hear the word 'Muslim Jihadists', what comes to mind is that an act terror has been committed and the savage Muslims are responsible! For how long are we going to sit back and watch our reputations as Muslims being dragged in the mud!
I therefore, call upon you to rise, learn the recitation and the teachings of the Quran and help in every way you can to spread these holy teachings round the world. This is the I.T. age were social sites can help you reach millions to billions! You can help in your own little way by sharing such posts as this as soon as you are through reading it.
