Yesterday, we discussed a couple of ways by which we all can harness Ramadhan Goodies. We shall continue from where we stopped today.Let's discuss a little more on the importance of the recitation of the holy Quran in this month.
From our Islamic studies in school,we all know that the Holy Quran was sent down from the high heavens on a night...the night of POWER which happens to be in this month of Ramadhan. Hence, most scholars are of the opinion that we would not be wrong if we tag Ramadhan as the month of the Quran. This is why, brother, you can't be left out in the recitation of the Holy Book in this month Even if you don't know how to as you read this post.It's not that hard really!
Personally, I've taught a friend how to read the Quran in less than a week...amazingly, the friend came to me just as we commenced fasting in Ramadhan.Yes, he was slow but at least,he is no longer unable to tap into the lada pool of blessings.Today,he's as better at the recitation.You too can,I seriously urge to find a person who knows how to recite or seek out an Alfa specifying that you would love to start reading yourself before the end of Ramadhan. Remember,seeking of knowledge is an act of worship that attract huge rewards on ordinary days...what more of seeking to read the Quran in the month of the Quran...hmmm??? Listening to the Recitation of the Quran
While you are at the noble project of learning how to read the Quran,I would suggest you get started with the frequent listening to the recitation of the Quran.
Alhamdulillah! Islam is beautiful!!! Do you know that listening to the recitation of the Quran earns you God's Blessings? When you know how to recite,you get the reward for reciting and listening and should people be listen to your recitation,you get the reward for engaging them positively...the source of rewards are way too many to mention.While learning to recite the Quran,you should help yourself to a VCD,DVD or...download the audio files of the Holy Quran onto your phone and make sure you listen to it day and night during Ramadhan non-stop to earn as much reward as possible.We also have applications that present a complete copy of the Holy Quran to you via your phone...check the appropriate app store of your phone for download details.
Zakat Offering During Ramadhan
The Current Nisab for zakat for this year 1436 AH is N584,833.00.If your account balance in the bank does not go below this amount for twelve months,you are liable to pay 2.5% of it as ZAKAT.This is the minimum,those with greater amount would have to find the 2.5% of their own account balance and pay as Zakat.It's one out of forty for cattle. Might be wondering why I'm talking about zakat in discussing Ramadhan?This is because scholars recommend that we should delay the payment till the month of Ramadhan so as to give a multiplying effect to the reward of paying the compulsory fee.
In the Muslim Arab world (not all Arabs are Muslims...we got Christians too among them),it is a common practice to delay Zakat till the commencement of Ramadhan. You too can do that and please,note that Zakat is NOT to be distributed in N1000,N500 or N200 pieces...it's to be delivered in bulk of say N10 000,N20 000,N50 000...even N100 000 or more depending on the recipient. It's meant to be a life changing fund not some recharge card change! Details later insha Allah!!!
Finally...
I would like to remind you that in Islam,actions are judged according to intention...don't fool yourself by DELIBERATELY working on God's boundaries by refusing to minimize your sinful actions, be it big or small...if no one sees you God does and guess what? He told had announced that "Fasting is mine and I shall be the to reward those that are fasting!"
