By the end of today's fasting,Ramadhan would be 20 and we would be left with just 9 or 10 days more to go. I'm truly sorry for not being able to have attended to you all these while please do pardon and bear with me. Well,as the title of this post has rightly asserted,it's better late than never.
Ramadhan is a Month of Bountiful Harvest for All Believers
This month is like a Bonanza to us all as Muslims. Whatever worship you are used to before,you are encouraged to continue with it and more importantly,you should find a way to increase them. You are also implored to add new acts of worship to those you already engage in. This would make you become a better Muslim every Ramadhan (though you are not expected to fix a time to doing good....you should be doing it ASAP. What I'm trying to say is that seize the opportunity of the fasting period to be more steady fast and more disciplined).
Ramadhan is More of Charity than Worship
Yes, fasting has been made compulsory, so is salat,but, equally important is good character and giving in charity. Consider the Nigerian factor for instance...
Nigerian Muslims are about the poorest around.You don't need to learn rocket science to know and acknowledge that...a quick look at an average beggar in your area (if you live in Nigeria) would prove me right. Things has gotten so bad that should you gather 10 beggars at random,those that are Muslims shall be the single majority of the ten. Whereas, considering the financial program and plan of Islam for us,it shouldn't be so,we ought all to be living and leading a decent lifestyle,but, unfortunately,this is NOT the case.
From a source,I was told that the rich are encouraged to delay the payment of Zakat till Ramadhan so as to enjoy the benefits of giving out in the sacred month. If your money hasn't grown enough for you to pay Zakat, you should imbibe the culture of giving Sadaqa so that when you finally reach the level of Zakat,giving it out wouldn't be difficult. If you want to do that,Ramadhan is a good time to do so!!!
The Search for Lailatul Qadr
The search begins tonight,please,do not miss it.Tonight shall be the 21st night,one of the odd day's night in which the prophet have hinted we should try to find the Night of Majesty. It would be a lot easier for those that have gone for 'itikaf but as for us that are staying behind, it can be a mission impossible!
Don't you worry,tomorrow insha Allah is another day,we shall discuss comprehensively how important charity is in Islam and to mankind.Once again,I greet you Ramadhan Kareem!
