Salaam 'alaikum!
Going straight to the point! Boko Haram obviously,is unislamic!There are no doubts about that...afterall,they have attacked several mosques and their area of operation is a Muslim dominated area.
According to the Quran,the reward for killing a fellow Muslim is actually a punishment of Hell fire!The Quran also forbid the killings and maltreatment of non-Muslims when God asked Prophet Ibrahim A.S. in the Quran why he would be hostile to non-Muslims just because they are not Muslim.God said that if He had wished,all of us would have no choice but to worship Him and Him alone!
These and many more references from the Holy book are evidences that Islam is against terrorism and insurgency.Having said that,it is important to note the deafening silence of the Muslim Ummah to the plight of those affected by the insurgency and the fact that our leaders are not making the headlines as to helping to curb the menace!
From the Sultan,to the Council of Ulamahs,the FORMWAN among other prominent Muslim societies are not making the news at all and it's really worrisome!As Muslims,we are supposed to be our brothers' keepers! So,why the silence what are we doing to see the insurgency go????!
Shekau's resurfaced again!What that simply means is that the insurgency is still very much alive as against the insinuations that they have been defeated.This is because they had time to recover from the shock of their defeat.Already,they have started attacking again from all angles which makes us to wonder if they'll ever go away! As Muslims,WHAT ARE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!
According to a very sound hadith,when you see something going wrong,you should correct it with your hands,if you can't,correct it with your mouth and if you can't,then with your heart,but,know that that's the weakest of faith!
I think there's a lot we can do in correcting the menace with both our hands and mouths!By fundraising,we can gather cash,buy stuffs of daily needs to feed,shelter and cloth the affected IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) we can also use part of the funds to erect make shift schools to educate the children as well as the adults on Islam's true stance in the matter and offer free classes of both Western and Islamic knowledge to prove to them in practical terms what Islam says about education.
We don't have to wait for the Sultan and the Emirs to do this before we cat,we can do this ourselves...as in create an NGO,open an account and STRATEGICAL seek for donations to help the poor masses that are mostly affected by the insurgency.Who knows?!
In so doing,we could be on the verge killing the idea that Western Education is evil which happens to be the backbone of the insurgency!
